Have A Slice on National Pie Day

There’s always time for pie. Luckily, tomorrow is January 23rd – which means it’s National Pie Day! Believe it or not, this day of pie extravagance was started in the 1970s by an engineer. Crank the oven, bake your favorite pie (sweet or savory) and share the goodness with everyone close to you.

At Libby’s® Fruits & Vegetables, we want to help you get the most out of National Pie Day by giving you the tips and resources to celebrate it. Baking a pie is a perfectly fun, festive way to bring your family and friends together.

The American Pie Council suggests there are a “baker’s dozen” ways to celebrate National Pie Day, including:

  • Take a pie to work day. Treat your co-workers to a National Pie Day tasting of your baking prowess.
  • Hold a pie night. Gather family and friends for a pie celebration. Everyone must bring one homemade pie for the pie buffet.
  • Stage kid's pie activities. Have kids compete in pie-making, pie poetry and pie art contests.
  • Pass along pie memories. Call older members of the family and ask them for pie recipes. Ask them to teach you how to make them.

To help you celebrate all types of pies this National Pie Day - we wanted to showcase some of our favorite recipes!
