This fall, Libby's continued its commitment to families and healthy living with the Snack Duty Takeover program by visiting communities where Libby's products are available. Libby's gave away Single Fruit Cups at soccer practices all over the Northeast, and brought a special guest – Olympic gold medalist and world champion soccer player Brandi Chastain – to share her skills and to teach kids and their parents about healthy eating and active lifestyles.
A Little Charity Goes a Long Way
Not only did Libby's deliver delicious snacks and elite soccer skills to three cities in the Northeast, our team also prepared a special presentation during each day-long clinic. Players, parents, local reporters and mom bloggers gathered around Brandi as she shared stories of overcoming adversity on the soccer field and made donations of $5,000 to each community soccer league on behalf of Libby's. The leagues reported that the much appreciated contributions will be used to buy new goals, equipment or uniforms.
About the Snack Duty Takeover Program
The Snack Duty Takeover program traveled to North Providence, R.I., Buffalo, N.Y. and East Hartford, Conn., where Brandi taught beginning players basic passing skills and more advanced players the complex footwork necessary to dodge opponents. After the players had the chance to work out with Brandi on the field, they were invited to sample Libby's® Single Fruit Cups. Players and parents alike received gift bags that included coupons for Single Fruit Cups and reusable water bottles. The snacks were plentiful and kids (and their parents) came back for seconds, and even thirds!
The Libby's team would like to give a special thanks to the presidents of NPYSA, Buffalo Soccer Club and East Hartford Soccer Club, Tony Fernandes, Anna-Lesa Calvert and Stephanie Duffey. Your hard work, patience and dedication to your players helped make this program so successful and fun.
