Sweet and Spicy Grilled Jerk Chicken

Serves 4

1 1⁄2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast (cut into 1" wide strips)
1⁄4 c plain nonfat kefir
2 habenero peppers (stemmed and seeded)
4 scallions
2 tsp allspice
1 tbsp dried thyme
1⁄2 tsp garlic powder
1⁄2 tsp cumin
1 tbsp molasses
1 tsp salt

Combine all ingredients, except the chicken, in blender and blend until smooth.

Pour mixture into glass bowl, and add chicken. Toss chicken well, to coat with the marinade.

Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (or longer if desired).

Heat grill to 400 degrees F, or high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and thread strips onto skewers. Grill chicken for about 5-6 minutes, or until it is no longer pink inside.
