Libby’s Amplifies Sideline Snacks with Single Fruit Cups

This fall, Libby's continued its commitment to families and healthy living with the Snack Duty Takeover program by visiting communities where Libby's products are available. Libby's gave away Single Fruit Cups at soccer practices all over the Northeast, and brought a special guest – Olympic gold medalist and world champion soccer player Brandi Chastain – to share her skills and to teach kids and their parents about healthy eating and active lifestyles.

A Little Charity Goes a Long Way

Not only did Libby's deliver delicious snacks and elite soccer skills to three cities in the Northeast, our team also prepared a special presentation during each day-long clinic. Players, parents, local reporters and mom bloggers gathered around Brandi as she shared stories of overcoming adversity on the soccer field and made donations of $5,000 to each community soccer league on behalf of Libby's. The leagues reported that the much appreciated contributions will be used to buy new goals, equipment or uniforms.

About the Snack Duty Takeover Program

The Snack Duty Takeover program traveled to North Providence, R.I., Buffalo, N.Y. and East Hartford, Conn., where Brandi taught beginning players basic passing skills and more advanced players the complex footwork necessary to dodge opponents. After the players had the chance to work out with Brandi on the field, they were invited to sample Libby's® Single Fruit Cups. Players and parents alike received gift bags that included coupons for Single Fruit Cups and reusable water bottles. The snacks were plentiful and kids (and their parents) came back for seconds, and even thirds!

The Libby's team would like to give a special thanks to the presidents of NPYSA, Buffalo Soccer Club and East Hartford Soccer Club, Tony Fernandes, Anna-Lesa Calvert and Stephanie Duffey. Your hard work, patience and dedication to your players helped make this program so successful and fun.

Olympic Soccer Star Shares Health Knowledge

Although she won Olympic gold medals, played midfielder for the California Storm and worked with a girls' mentoring organization called the ReachuP! Foundation, international soccer star Brandi Chastain is first and foremost a mom. Throughout her career as one of the most well-known women's soccer players in the world, Brandi discovered the most effective ways to keep kids healthy and active.

No More Back-to-School Blues!

Once the lazy days of summer have come and gone, your family may have a hard time jumping back into the busy school routine. However, the transition doesn’t have to be stressful! Keep your family from turning summer into “bummer” when the first day of school arrives.

Minimize anxiety. If your children are apprehensive about a new teacher or classes that don’t include their best friends, try and get them comfortable with the new situation. Quick fixes like a walk around school to map out a typical day or a personal introduction to a new teacher can help make an unknown situation easier.

Keep organized. Show your children how organization can be both efficient and fun. Let them pick out colorful planners and notebooks, and show them how to update it with important information like homework, tests, football games and friends’ birthday parties.

Snack Hassle-Free. The school year fills your family schedule with carpools, homework, tutoring sessions, sports practices and play dates, so it can be difficult to ensure that your kids maintain a balanced diet. When the kids are in a rush, Libby’s Single Fruit Cups offer a convenient and affordable snack, and contain one complete serving of fruit so they get great nutrition even during the busiest of school days!

Create a Fireworks Family Affair

Enable a kid friendly atmosphere during the fireworks display that will allow the entire family to join in on the fun. These confetti launchers lose the flame but maintain the element of surprise so the tiniest of tots can enjoy the Independence Day show.
